2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to visitors to theblackbookpublishing.com, people who contact us, and—if we enable an official Pinterest connection—Pinterest account holders who choose to authorize that connection.
3. Information we may process
Information you send us. If you contact us by email, we may process your name, email address and the contents of your message.
Technical and security information. Our hosting or security providers may process limited technical data such as IP address, browser/device information, requested pages, timestamps and security logs in order to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the site.
Pinterest-authorized information. If an official Pinterest integration is enabled and you deliberately connect a Pinterest account through Pinterest’s own authorization/OAuth flow, Pinterest may make available the account information, boards, Pins or other publishing resources required for the function you approve. We do not ask for or collect your Pinterest password.
4. How we use information
We use information only for purposes connected with operating The Black Book, including responding to enquiries; delivering, securing and improving the website; carrying out actions expressly requested by an authorized Pinterest account holder; diagnosing integration errors; complying with legal obligations; and preventing fraud, misuse or security incidents.
5. Pinterest API, OAuth and data use
Where Pinterest integration is available, connection is initiated through Pinterest’s official authorization/OAuth process. We request only the permissions reasonably necessary for the enabled feature and do not use a user’s Pinterest login credentials to access the account.
Access tokens, refresh tokens, app secrets and similar credentials are treated as confidential and are intended to be kept in secure server-side secret storage rather than exposed in public website code. Pinterest-authorized information is used only to provide the feature requested by the authorized account holder.
Except for information that Pinterest expressly permits an application to retain—such as permitted campaign analytics for an authorized account—we do not intend to build a separate long-term database of Pinterest API information. Where Pinterest rules require fresh retrieval, the integration is designed to request the information from Pinterest when it is needed.
We do not sell Pinterest information, combine it with unrelated third-party profiles, or share it with unrelated advertising services. Actions such as creating or publishing Pins are performed only within the scope of the authorization and instructions provided by the authorized account holder.
6. Disconnecting Pinterest and deletion
You can revoke an app’s Pinterest authorization using Pinterest’s connected-app controls. When we become aware that authorization has been revoked or an integration has been disconnected, we stop using the affected credentials and delete, invalidate or allow them to expire within a reasonable operational period, subject only to limited legal or security backup requirements.
If you want to request deletion of personal information associated with a Pinterest connection or another interaction with this website, email amazon.black.book@gmail.com. We may ask for enough information to verify the request before acting on it.
7. Legal bases in the EEA/UK
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR or similar law applies, our legal basis depends on the context: consent where you choose to authorize an optional account connection; performance of a requested service or steps you ask us to take; our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the website and publishing workflow; and compliance with legal obligations where required. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
8. Cookies, analytics and advertising
The current static version of this website does not intentionally use non-essential advertising or analytics cookies and does not intentionally include third-party advertising trackers. Hosting or security infrastructure may still use strictly necessary technologies or logs to deliver and protect the site. If we later add non-essential analytics, advertising or similar tracking, we will update this policy and, where required, provide an appropriate consent mechanism before such tracking is activated.
9. Sharing and service providers
We may use service providers for hosting, security, email and technical infrastructure. They may process limited information on our behalf only as necessary to provide those services or as required by law. We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce rights, investigate misuse or protect users, the website or the public.
10. International transfers
Some technology providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we rely on the measures made available by the relevant provider or otherwise required by law.
11. Retention
We retain enquiry correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain appropriate business records or meet legal requirements. Technical logs are retained according to the operational and security periods used by the relevant provider. Pinterest credentials are kept only while required for an authorized connection and are deleted, revoked or allowed to expire when no longer needed, subject to limited security or legal backups.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we process, including keeping API secrets and tokens out of public front-end code. However, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
13. Children
Some books featured on this website are made for children, but this website and any Pinterest developer integration are intended for adults purchasing, publishing or managing content. We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to provide personal information or connect Pinterest accounts through this website.
14. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection regarding your personal information, and to withdraw consent.
